Saint-Martin-de-Ré is the main village on the Ile de Ré, with the most shops and restaurants. The island is about 30km long and 5km wide.

DIRECTIONS:

- From Bordeaux or Paris, by car : once you're on the La Rochelle highway, follow the road until the Ile de Ré toll bridge (16€ in summer, 9€ the rest of the year, for a return trip for a car, free for motorcyclists and bike riders) and follow the signs to Saint-Martin. The village is 15km after the bridge.

- From La Rochelle-Laleu airport : the airport is located just before the Ile de Ré bridge. Many low cost airlines fly to La Rochelle-Laleu airport, such as Easyjet, Ryanair, FlyBe, Jet2 and Aer Arran.

At the airport, there are the usual car rental companies and taxis (booking advised at www.taxiledere.com).

You can also take a bus to La Rochelle "Place de Verdun" bus stop, and from there catch the bus "Les Mouettes" straight to Saint Martin. (The journey takes about 1 1/2 hours, costs about 6€ and takes you to a stop right next to the hotel).

3- go ahead to the port and turn into the 1st right Rue Emile Atgier's Street.

4- the Hotel entrance is situated Allée de la Guyane's Street, in front of the public park.
